Google is about to release a new model called Argon, and funnily enough the name comes from the Greek word for idle. The real question is whether you can catch up in AI once you've fallen this far behind. Google hasn't had a frontier model in months, and a lot of people are speculating it has settled for lightweight models for consumers and Search, which would be fine for a company where AI is a side bet.
